DOGE may cut the USGS bird banding lab as soon as this week. I can’t find any news reports of it other than this, and some social media posts from insiders. This would have a pretty major impact on bird research and conservation, and everyone should be aware it’s happening.

Surgery prep involves 2 chlorhexidine showers to strip me of all my bacteria and freshly washed sheets to help keep me that way. I’m literally squeaky clean and I hate it.
