City Council Votes 30-18 to Approve Final Part of 2026 Budget. Will Mayor Veto It?
“We may not have the majority of the City Council but we do have the people,” Mayor Brandon Johnson said just before the the Chicago City Council voted to approve a budget he fiercely opposed.

If my alderman had voted for it I’d have a conniption on his phone line but I am fortunately in 1st ward and have representation I trust.

I wish he would just retire now instead of serving out his lame duck period and stop causing more damage. He’s not doing anything to help real constituents at all at this point.

He’s already not running for reelection, he’s just out here making a mess in his lame duck.

Make drivers actually attempt to care about the schedule, pausing when they get ahead of it, and see what a difference that makes.

The fact that when asked, CTA always blame traffic is also infuriating- at least as much of the issue is bus drivers speeding. Bunching happens in the middle of the night, on holidays, etc- what traffic?

This is also my experience with other major routes. CTA has utterly failed to cope with bunching - more buses will not help service reliability until they do. Other cities do what OP described, run some buses express, or stop and consolidate riders and pause empties, but CTA refuses to even try.
