This year I’ve begun losing my sight due to retinal damage linked to a (currently) unexplained neurological disorder. It’s been unsettling and has had a profound impact on both my work and personal life.

On a personal note, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to lead two large UK trials (SIGHT and EyeFocus). At the same time, life delivered a sharp reminder of its fragility.
