I’m sorry (former federal contractor here). Shutdowns are never great but this one is next level.

Yup. I’d say ALX Skeets in general - it’s helped me be more active in my city & has connected me to so many great people IRL. Not to mention Del Ray Bourbon Club.

Glad I let you twist my arm to get me over here, Alex. 😎

I mean, I know how I use my browser is not typical, but I did not expect 2-5 (!) to be the norm.

And my open browser windows don’t account for the articles I regularly save to my feed reader…
stephelms.bsky.social
Right? That’s crazy talk!

What? How on earth do the 54% of you people function? I have 100+ on my phone and multiple windows all with multiple tabs on my computer.
yougov.co.uk
How many browsing tabs do you typically have open?*

1: 6%
2-5: 54%
6-10: 14%
11-20: 8%
21-30: 2%
More than 30: 3%

*across all windows, on desktop/laptop

Always up for a memoir about complicated mother-daughter relationships.

I stupidly clicked on their editorial about the shut down: Government Shutdowns Wouldn’t Happen if They Caused More Pain - all about how the Rs are willing to negotiate & Ds are playing with fire by trying to force their hand.

Appreciate them making me feel better about canceling my sub.

Carolyn Hax is the only column I’ll miss when my subscription stops. I think you can still access CWGs forecasts (just not their on depth analysis) w/o a sub.

I do say thank you after my Echo answers my question.

Aww. You two are adorable.

So here’s a flex 😂 - I was in honors & AP English so we did not read the “typical” classics, we read alternative titles fr the same authors. For ex instead of reading “Of Mice & Men” we read “East of Eden”. So I didn’t read a lot of classics until I was an adult (Really like “The Great Gatsby”).

I’ve never seen Titanic. Or Breaking Bad. Or Game of Thrones. Or Survivor. Or The Sopranos (though that one I do want to watch at some point). Or Succession. Or any of White Lotus. Although I have read & enjoyed all the discourse about the last two.

His work is amazing. You have great restraint. 😉

Love me a good coffee mug! 😍

Oh! I had a similar ones that I bought off Etsy at my old place. Loved them.

Was it Stained Glass by Kip? I got a piece last year which led me to commissioning him to make custom windows for my front door. Some of the best money I’ve spent. Amazing work.
stephelms.bsky.social
Yup. I got that one last year. 😊

Pottery will always be in in my book.

Don’t think they’ve got anything on the OT Trader Joe’s though who seem to do a major reorg every couple of months. 😂
