Sometimes when painting an anthromorphic character, it drifts towards bara.

One advantage of posting progress images is that you can see areas that really need attention!

Meet Rusty, the warforged Druid of Rust. Reflavoured Circle of Spores. They were an automaton for an ancient civilisation's Court. An unknown disaster became the people, and much was lost. This automaton was recently unearthed, and awoke from their millenia-long stasis.

Finished my first Warhammer 40k mini modification.
It's a Spacewolf mech that I felt was rather genetic. So I explored sticking bits if twig from my hedge to add a wicker aesthetic to it. I had fun deciding where to put the wood and carving it to shape.

Finished a digital painting of a necromancer.

They're a academic of magic, and lacking in a moral code.

This piece I explored using barely any layers and only relying on an undersketch, to recreate my process with traditional oil paint. I had fun playing with the aggressive shadows that eat away.

Baked some Panellets!

They're a Catalan biscuit made with sugar and ground almonds with potato (ideally sweet potato).

They're baked for Castanyada (Oct 31st), and I enjoy that eating them reminds me of the fun I had with my Catalan friends, a decade ago now.
On a cooling rack sits 19 orb biscuits (16 coated in pinenuts, 3 without). They are golden and slightly toasted.

Finished my Illustration Assignment for my own comic.

It presents the werewolf transformation through the lense of Magic Girl Transformation. It's a playful joke of smashing two opposing themes together whilst finding their overlap. It's been very fascinating to work on it.

I find their effect very satisfying on my brain. Attrition on my opponent's creatures. Spawn slug friends if they die. Stacks with creatures that have extra slime counter conditions.

Otherwise I love Breach the Multiverse. We all mill and I get to rob everyone's graveyard. I love any theft cards.
Magic the Gathering Trading Card. Toxrill the Corrosive. The creature is a big old creepy slug.

Working on layering the white.
Need to tidy blue edges and give a critical eye and last touches.

I am leading an all-age workshop on Wednesday with "Make Your Own Stickers" and this evening I was frantically finding out if you could design by hand - so people had more autonomy in the design process.

Thankfully you can! And I feel relief exhaustion because it was looking very pessimistic.

Today I've been optimising my Procreate project archiving. The process to "destack" work is so clunky I've put it off until today.

I then went to make backups of finished works on my desktop. There I found this forgotten cat painting!

It was part of a Daily Cat challenge to help me art more often.

Today's Sublimation Dye Mug workshop at Partneriaeth Ogwen, Bethesda, Gwynedd, Cymru, was so popular, all the sublimation blanks got used! It's wonderful to see such community interest.

Sublimation dyes are a fun alternative to sublimation because you paint on paper to make the transfer.
