I was amazed to be told, tho, that this book is actually a first edition, first printing of the first appearance in paperback published by Puffin in 1961!

Nope. Several years later I did try to read 'The Lord of the Rings' but it wasn't until about 25 years after 'The Hobbit' that I was encouraged to buy, and read 'Mort' ... and then I was off down that other leg of the Trousers of Time. (2/4)

Cover design by a Pauline Baynes. It was a copy given to me when I was around 10 by a cousin. She was delighted, some 25+ years later, when she found I was writing with Terry.

One of the *many* things I experienced alongside Terry at Discworld events, and while writing with him, was that people are people - be they witches, werewolves, goblins or Pratchett fans. :-)
