Friday Nights Lights on a Saturday night in Maui. I didn't take this photo but I was at Lahainaluna High against Maui last night. Lahainaluna, founded in 1831, is above the destruction and now reconstruction of the Lahaina fires. Such a resilient place. The Lunas led by Joe Arcangel. I kid you not.

Wandering into a Livingston, MT bookstore and imagine my happy surprise in finding Walter Kirn postcards. In two different poses! Montana truly is the Treasure State. Then I had to explain the Kirn Dog to my kid.

After an afternoon of Trump protests. I found myself back in DuPont Circle where the Flower Duet was being beautifully performed amidst the heat and the anger. Washington DC, thank you I needed that more than you'll know.

Just working on my photography before heading back out in DC. I find it soothing. To quote philosopher king Damon Albarn, 'It gives me a sense of enormous well being and then I'm happy for the rest of the day.'

Last night in DC was literally Feds doing night club patrol, your federal dollars at work. I also spent some time last night in Anacostia, one of DC's highest crime spots. No evidence of federal police enforcement. It's all a farce. Did see ancient armored cars at Union Station.

In another time, my buddy and I would dine at the Odeon, the Reel Inn, or the Edendale. Sometimes, we would decide it was a good idea to drive out to Joshua Tree at midnight. Now, we meet for hot dogs at the Costco in Bozeman. That's pretty great. Circle of life etc....

This book was a kitschy prop in my Emigrant, MT cabin. I returned it to its original purpose on my hike. A bit on the nose, but what can you do?

Baby's first tear gassing. The LAPD said they issued a dispersal order at 4pm. Me and about 20 random people I asked never heard it. One minute you're eating a Mexican pastry from a nice lady and next a dude with a baton is saying 'Get the fuck out of here' without even a hello.
