The first original novel I ever wrote was called "The Lostkind". I wrote it because I wanted a story with specific tropes, and couldn't find an exact match.

For All Mankind, Pluribus, Severance, Monarch. Apple does Sci-Fi better than anyone right now.
Adaptations are a different thing.
Dark Matter: Good show, close to Source Material.
Foundation: Good show, very different from Source Material.

I have a weakness for Movies with great world building, incredible visuals, and thin plots. It's a fanficcers dream. I wrote a novel-length fic around 'Pacific Rim'. Jupiter Ascending is very much in that category.

Hard scifi, *and* 'Found Footage' style? Two of my personal favorite tropes.
I would have liked a happier ending, but it still ticks a lot of boxes for me. That spacewalk scene? I want that as my screensaver.

Expanse. But it's not the fairest of choices, because The Expanse was based on a book series, so the show already had a 'start, middle, and end' planned, before it started Production. BSG felt like it was improvising some towards the finale.

The audiobook *does* come out on schedule, apparently, so I'll probably have it finished before then.
