We were pleased to welcome councillors from Notts County Council last week. Our team provided an update on the STEP programme, followed by a site tour along the River Trent, giving councillors the chance to see first-hand both the scale of the challenge and the huge opportunities at West Burton.

HTS cables are the backbone of STEP’s fusion magnets - and recent testing has shown just how tough they are. When put to the test, the cable carried over 90,000 amps and withstood mechanical forces equivalent to 50 cars pressing down on every metre of cable.
