even without the technical shortcuts, air tricks gave me a really satisfying sense of nuance and fine control once i got better acquainted with the game’s physics. i think the best way to look at it relative to past games is that drifting is nerfed while jumps/tricks are buffed

i felt this too at first, but the thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the tightness and elegance of driving and drifting has been moved to air control and jumping. flying around off rails/poles/walls isn’t as hard as it looks once you have some experience. ig it depends on your bar for “casual”
