Curious, are you on latest iOS on your phone? I've just tested again in Safari (having not done so in some months) and it's working perfectly again, testing bbc.co.uk for example. Only thing I can think of that's changed is that I (made a poor decision and) upgraded to 26.

No joy, sadly. I've even tried a full reset in Orion, and trashed the folder out of ~Library. Funnily the sites test OK in private windows in Orion, clicking on the padlock shows a 'good' certificate. It's really weird. I'm going to persevere though, I do like Orion (and Kagi).

I want to like Orion, but some of the bugs are just weird. Random sites giving me insecure warnings and showing open padlocks when they're perfectly fine in every other browser.

I don't have the hanging issue specifically to extent you describe, but sites are noticably slower than any other browser. That's the issue that drove me away from it.
