Running on inflation is a good way to trade power every 2 or 4 years because the party in power does little to affect it, and people think inflation=price levels, and even if inflation is 0, “high prices“ don’t come down.

Oh for sure, but it’s when trying to convince others that even if they prefer AOC, they should vote for Manchin because he has a better chance of winning, they totally ignore the different results of winning.

i don’t understand why all these self-proclaimed statistics experts abandoned expected value in favor of chance of winning and now even winning margin. i mean I do—it’s because the expected value of a 50% chance of an AOC presidency is much, much higher than a 60% chance of a Manchin presidency!
