Unfortunately it is hard wired into human genes that “different = dangerous”. It takes effort to overcome this. But it is easy to exploit this. We will always be a soft target for the Trumps and Farages of this world. So the rest of us have to work harder.

I am an ardent Remainer now Rejoiner. But I have no idea what the EU is trying to achieve tactically. The EU car industry is under threat from China. The UK is its second biggest market after the US and they have a €23bn surplus. Why mess around with tariffs now? Deckchairs / Titanic!
