Restoring childhoods disrupted by war with www.novi.ngo
“Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice.” Have you come across Bonhoeffer’s Theory of Stupidity? He argued that stupidity isn’t just a lack of intelligence—it’s a social phenomenon, a moral failure that thrives in groups and under oppressive systems. You can’t reason with it.

Every family in Ukraine is losing someone. When a soldier falls, their village kneels as the funeral procession passes—grief and honor in silence. That is happening outside Kyiv right now as our team drives to the next meeting. War doesn’t pause. Neither do we.

I’m in Kyiv.

Victor helps rebuild homes in Moschun.

He also runs a food network for families on the front lines.

Anastacia and her three kids fled Crimea with nothing.

@thenovicommunity.bsky.social is partnering in all of it.

I’m in Ukraine.

War is still here. So are the kids.

Every day, I’ll share what I see. What I hear. What The Novi Community and our Partners are doing to keep childhood alive.

They won’t quit. Neither will we.

Stay with me.

Moore makes it clear—this isn’t just foreign policy. It’s about whether we let power silence truth.

I remember sitting across from a government official in Myanmar in 2008, hearing him explain—without irony—why locking Rohingya families in camps surrounded by barbed wire was “for their protection.” It was like listening to someone calmly justify drowning a person to save them from thirst.

The U.S. has stopped all foreign aid, leaving millions of children in war zones without food, healthcare, or education. Over 473 million children live in conflict zones, including 500,000 Rohingya in Bangladesh, now more vulnerable than ever.

20 Years Since the Deadly Tsunami in Asia. I’ll never forget arriving in Bandai Aceh with a relief team and seeing bodies and remains on both sides of the road for miles, after that the hardest work started. www.nytimes.com/2024/12/26/w...

“To hope is to gamble. It’s to bet on the future, on your desires, on the possibility of an open heart and uncertainty is better than gloom and safety. To hope is dangerous, and yet it is the opposite of fear, for to live is to risk.”

I just finished 4 days of board meetings with the Chin Human Rights Organization. Their integrative approach to human rights not only saves lives, it changes the political landscape in Myanmar so that the next generation can know peace instead of constant war and violence.
