I remember sitting across from a government official in Myanmar in 2008, hearing him explain—without irony—why locking Rohingya families in camps surrounded by barbed wire was “for their protection.” It was like listening to someone calmly justify drowning a person to save them from thirst.

The U.S. has stopped all foreign aid, leaving millions of children in war zones without food, healthcare, or education. Over 473 million children live in conflict zones, including 500,000 Rohingya in Bangladesh, now more vulnerable than ever.
