Since when is observing (and that's what photography is) criminal when it doesn't involve trespass?
The whole concept of "hate crime" is a bad idea - either it's assault or other criminal behavior or it's free speech. Gov should not be deciding which speech is acceptable.

Redistricting can be an opportunity for Democrats - since they were a powerless minority before, having to run in distracts that aren't "safe" should select for more acceptable candidates statewide - creating a pool of candidates far more attractive than say O'Rourke.

The simplest cure would be to require tenure and promotion committees to only consider 3? articles or 1 book, and actually read them. Quality over quantity.
If they aren't competent to judge a colleague's work in their area of expertise, they shouldn't be on that committee.
