After about 20 years, I reacquainted myself with ice skating before Christmas. Great fun at Somerset House, once I’d got my eye in that is. Remembering my terror as a teenager at Romford ice rink

Excellent display of old annuals at the Shaws Booksellers today for the @nursingtimes.bsky.social festive team lunch. Sadly, I think I may own - or have once owned - the Rupert bear one and the Blue Peter one too www.shawsbooksellers.co.uk

Today, while at the excellent Barnet Museum, I learnt about the life story of North London nurse Mabel Johnson and also some mental health care history about the nearby former Colney Hatch Asylum. A Sunday of local area exploring. #nurses #mentalhealth #history #barnet www.barnetmuseum.co.uk

Earlier today, I was wandering around Monken Hadley in the mud and rain learning about the Battle of Barnet in 1471 on a walking tour with Paul Baker, of Barnet and London Walks. Echoes of my A-level history lessons with Miss Wallace. Excellent fun and I learnt stuff or at least relearnt it

A bit of nostalgia with a return to the 90s and the brilliant Therapy? at Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Thirty years since the release of their album Troublegum!
