Seattle software engineer, musician, and outdoor enthusiast
I’m a 50-something Seattle software engineer, so I’ve had my share of Microsoft friends, neighbors, and colleagues over the decades. The number of lines of code MS already has is ginormous. Adding enough AI-generated code in just a few years to get to 20-30% seems unlikely.

American Jews, a people famously unwilling to write or perform Christmas music :)

Right? Like you needed to learn the Spanish word for “burrito”. Things are indeed tough.

If only we had a well proven technology to capture energy from the gigantic fusion reactor in the sky

The buses, police cars, and language are wrong, but the point of view, hill, and action remind me of an epic day watching vehicles sliding down Boren St. in Seattle in 1997ish. Some of the buses were articulated “bendy” buses, for extra fun.

May this attain the same level of success as “Gulf of America”

I’d like to protest the article’s description as a “makeshift” voodoo doll. Looks like a well crafted piece of felt folk art to me.

Dang, I was hoping you meant they were at the “he’s naked” stage.

I think you may have come at this guy a little strong. I also took “wind-power” initially as referring to wind power generation and had to look at the article to clarify.

God made trans people and gave people free will, so 🤷‍♂️

Cougar Gold is at least as good as Beecher’s. Maybe better

Ooh, I’d read/watch that!

I just listened to the soundtrack today while stringing lights on the tree. It’s great! Some tunes I recall from the movie, some are Irving Berlin hits that got thrown in, and even the ones I didn’t recall are bangers. And the band swings hard.

I’m choosing to believe that you’ve trained the cats to provide the heat - not that they’re consuming it.

(I don’t have cats)

Same but Monty Python, for suburban-raised white guys of a certain age

Thank you, California.

Just had lunch with my work group (software engineers bringing you the next innovation in medical ultrasound). Of the 9 of us: 4 white native-born Americans; 1 I’m unsure of; 3 children of immigrants; 2 immigrants, one of whom has 2 engineer sons.

The kids are all right.

As a non-Jew with a stereotypically Jewish surname, the only place I’ve ever been made to feel unwelcome was Musk-era Twitter.

My grandpa had a pair of those, but he must not have used them because he was definitely a pork rib man.

Seattle’s chaoticnoise.com is pretty close, they’d probably be up for a road trip

Do you have any idea how much time it takes to remove all those serifs?

Upon checking their posting history, seems that maybe it’s _not_ a bit.

Anyway, off to get a head start on dinner prep, which I do to oppress my wife.

I _think_ it’s a deadpan bit.

If not, I’m calling my mom on them, then they’ll be in trouble.

With respect to safety: macho anti safety culture is lame. Professionals should take pride in doing things in a safe way, so everyone can come back tomorrow, and thus support and protect their loved ones. And teach/guide their juniors to do the same. THAT would be positive masculinity.

Sorry, can’t tell if that’s in sarcasm font. If not:

Uh…. I will happily give up football, but I’m sticking with food and my mom.
