For posterity's sake, "Not thrilled to be spending another 4+ years thinking about your old pinned tweet" is a sentence said to me today
A post on june 25, 2015, from me on twitter:

For posterity's sake, "I hope you don't end up getting killed by nazis" is a sentence said to me today

A follow up: While people are digging through my twitter history, hopefully that's a tweet people remember in the future.

Do YOU or someone you know in Austin want to speak at the next Austin Systems meetup? We have room for 1 more speaker for next week's event (Wed Oct 15) to talk about some interesting tech for 20-25 minutes. More details at austinsystems.org

i think that this is true but ALSO that it's not everyone. i feel like i've enjoyed programming even more since i've started using them

it's funny to me because past me would have agreed with the craftsmanship thing but over the years i've gotten away from it
steveklabnik.com
it is well written, even if not the first time i've seen this exact point made. and i disagree with it! but i also think it's a reasonable belief to have

my gut says Handle is only worthwhile if auto-clone (well, auto-handle) is a thing

i suspect kernel code just won't take advantage of Handle types in the way user code would.

but that's just my gut
steveklabnik.com
do i agree with a lot of it? sorta. and i disagree with some of it too. but it's at least well though out, well written, and isn't trying to turn the temperature up
steveklabnik.com
and i say this as a charli stan!

yes, yes, more of *this* kind of discourse instead of the past week's discourse

i love the way my screen looks, it's just stuff like this (and streaming my screen on discord) that's an issue
steveklabnik.com
then i have to get that onto the computer somehow
steveklabnik.com
my kingdom for a way to take screenshots without needing to toggle HDR off of my monitor first
steveklabnik.com
sure, i am not speculating on why this particular follow is happening, it's an "even if" not a "that is why this is the case"
steveklabnik.com
right, this kinda gets back to the optics thing. should people follow-police? probably not. do they? yes. and you can't control other people. so. for 'keeping an eye' stuff, probably should be on an alt
steveklabnik.com
i am not necessarily up on all of the latest variants of the proposal. you'd only be calling handle directly when the 'auto-clone' behavior doesn't kick in, right?

just realized the dril drunk driving tweet also works for regular driving
wint @dril
drunk driving may kill a lot of people, but it also helps a lot of people get to work on time, so, it;s impossible to say if its bad or not,

I believe you have to be re-verified, but I am not 100% sure offhand
steveklabnik.com
Changing your handle automatically un-verifies you btw

colocated is the default as of recently because practically speaking there's basically no downside
