my gut says Handle is only worthwhile if auto-clone (well, auto-handle) is a thing

i suspect kernel code just won't take advantage of Handle types in the way user code would.

but that's just my gut

right, this kinda gets back to the optics thing. should people follow-police? probably not. do they? yes. and you can't control other people. so. for 'keeping an eye' stuff, probably should be on an alt

i am not necessarily up on all of the latest variants of the proposal. you'd only be calling handle directly when the 'auto-clone' behavior doesn't kick in, right?
