I used to analyse balance sheets and remember chuckling somewhat the first time I saw a company's subsidiary had made a "negative contribution to profits" (probably in the '80s).

Not one for those of us that are colour blind. I saw the different colour dot going around the circle, but the dots never disappeared.

Probably a bit of both, I lived in the USA for 10 years and so am a bit bi-lingual. I often annoy my wife (who is American) by saying brattish things like, "I often forget which pronunciation is American and which is correct".

The easiest is to say something like 3 of the 4 goals PSG scored were due to errors by Madrid. Another way is to switch that around and say Madrid were at fault for 3 of the 4 goals. There is also the phrase "put past" which would then be, 3 of the 4 goals PSG put past Madrid were defensive errors.
