I like films and baseball. he/him
It’s cool that Hugh Jackman came to Milwaukee and had adventures and visited the Oriental Theatre….but I saw a real hero at that same theater several times including back-to-back nights exactly 15 years ago according to my social media memories. Long live Tommy Wiseau, a true Hollywood legend. 🌹💃🏈🥄

I didn’t realize it was Friday until just now. A fun surprise to remember it’s a Joe Bob evening. 🤠🦎✉️🔪🩸

I believe today, the biggest city in the country takes a huge step toward a progressive future for our politics.

It is reassuring to know that Pennywise The Dancing Clown 🎈 will never steal my Guinness while it is being protected by Maturin the Turtle.

I’ve always loved movie posters and the ones that stood out to me were literal pieces of art. I didn’t know as a kid, but most of those that I loved were painted by Drew Struzan. His style was original and then often imitated. I admire his art so much.

As they say in the hit Sparks musical ANNETTE…
So may we start?
(May we start, may we, may we now start?)
So may we start?
(May we start, may we, may we now start?)
It’s time to start
(May we start, may we, may we now start?)
High time to start

Just sat down for ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER on 70mm at my favorite theatre. New Paul Thomas Anderson will always feel like an event.

Our Milwaukee Brewers are once again NL Central Division Champions. This team is good. Really good! And we can win the whole damn thing.

THE LONG WALK. Dang. That film really got to me. It feels very much an evergreen story about humans, but it also feels very uniquely about our country in this time. It’s a warning that I hope people take note of for the future while also being a judgement of our recent past. Great film.

It’s been the entire summer…but I finally find myself home on a Friday night with no work or other plans and I get to watch The Last Drive In LIVE on @shudder.com ⚰️🧟‍♂️🔥

WEAPONS. What a ride! Really impressive writing construction, direction, and editing. It told so much story in a lot of little ways.

Not sure how I’m supposed to fall asleep when I can’t stop thinking about everything about Eddington. The kind of movie I want to rewatch immediately after just seeing it.

Baseball / personal milestone occurred yesterday when the Brewers beat the Cubs by a score of 8-7. It marked the 1000th win by the team since my first day of work on April 16, 2013. It’s been quite a ride. ⚾️🖤

Saw the film DROP tonight. Honestly, pretty good little mystery film with some twists and turns that were really fun. Good time.

I’m very excited about the new possible Buffy series. I enjoy catching random episodes on FUSE from time to time. My question I just thought of while watching, when a vampire is dusted, why do their clothes turn to dust?

Couldn’t resist this double-feature today on a snowy evening. 🤌

Since I’m not allowed to say that if you voted for our current president I will never trust you and will never forgive you, what I WILL say is you all missed out on how amazing the film BETTER MAN was in a theatre and you should seek it out. It’s astounding. #angels #comeundone

Just saw COMPANION, and it is a very fun movie that does what horror does best, show us the real terror of the world we live in and the people around us. The fact that it does that in an entertaining and clever way makes it a gem.

I’ve seen all but one of these movies and I would be so impressed with The Academy if THE SUBSTANCE won Best Picture. If it wins or ANORA wins, it will be a triumph. The only one that would be disappointing would be the Dylan movie.

Xmas is officially over and Milwaukee has returned to Halloween. Replace those jingle bells with tubular bells. It’s so cool and foggy and scary out tonight.

Whit Stillman has made movies that I’ve watched endlessly since high school, and it was very surreal to watch Metropolitan with him in the theatre. Now I just want to watch Barcelona immediately.

Absolutely nothing better than going to catch a film on a cold winter evening. So happy to live in a city with great theatres. For the record, I arrive early to the movies and that’s why all the seats are empty.
