It was 40 years ago today: @stevereich.bsky.social made his Nonesuch debut with the release of 'The Desert Music,' The piece incorporates poem fragments from William Carlos Williams and was his first work for large orchestra and chorus. You can hear it at stevereich.lnk.to/thedesertmusic

I feel so privileged, grateful, happy to have conducted a thrilling and moving performance of Elgar's 'Dream of Gerontius' on Saturday (22/11/25) with Monmouth/Chepstow Choral Societies, a semichorus from Bristol, the Regency Sinfonia and outstanding soloists Susan Marrs, Andrew Henley, Alex Jones!
