Been around awhile. Listens to Americana (blues to bluegrass) reads golden age mysteries,40s humor comics, been paid in cash for writing, and in beer for singing
Don’t forget that a DC affiliated company distributed Goodman’s comics and magazines at this time. Most of those guys were there 25 years earlier.

I had stopped getting Marvel’s superhero comics by this point. But probably got everything else, from MOKF to the future Elfquest. I have some issues of the Kroft comic, as I liked Bill Williams, the cover doesn’t help me recall if I bought this particular issue.

From what I’ve googled, the Mitchell Estate is half owned by a church, and half by very distant relatives. No idea who makes the decisions; but it’s no one with close ties to the author. The church was her nephew’s.

If memory serves me, the art is by Harry Lucey. Lucey drew Archie in his namesake title from the 1950s to the 1970s

Not DoJ, but if I had known of certain crimes and not reported, I would have been arrested and laid off prior to being terminated. Serious crimes and serious confessions had to be reported. Am sure whoever told would be offered a plea deal. I was accused once, denied it strongly, and got apology

Always interesting to see a cartoon by Albano, best known these days for creating Jonah Hex. I wonder if he scripted using layouts, like Carl Wessler …

Rick is still around on Facebook, so you could ask him. But the sidebar LSH story seems to be a garbled telling of Mooney penciling nudes in his comics, & Mooney would ink clothes on later. Which is the story I heard back then. I was not at DC or even Interlac, so maybe I heard the tamer version.

1962 the last UPA feature film written by Chuck and Dorothy Jones (memory tells me this moonlighting cost Chuck J his job at Warners although this is not typical Jones). Songs by Arlen and Harding
