I've just started reading this new book by Shekhar Khare, a renowned number theorist at UCLA, and I highly recommend it. It takes the reader on an intellectual adventure, with very illuminating analogies and vivid storytelling. It's a book about some brilliant math, but it also has a great heart.

As seen in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Peter Carr was a great mathematician with an expertise in finance. I had the honor of being a colleague of his at Cornell before he moved to NYU, where he became a legendary teacher and a professor, much beloved.

After my public lecture at Brooklyn College @brooklyncollege.bsky.social last Thursday, the students in the math club asked me to sign their arms! What a fantastic group of students -- so bright, genuine, and curious -- and so much fun to hang out with!
