Admittedly 90% of my diet is fast food. But 95% of all farms and 99% of dairy farms in Wisconsin are family owned. That is why I consistently donate to Farm Aid and always have the Wisconsin Cattleman’s Association ribeye steak sandwich every time I go to the State Fair.

The NCAA men’s basketball tournament in Milwaukee this weekend had a reported $6million economic impact. It also caused me to wake up very late, exhausted but happy this morning.

Of course, “Burning Down The House” is a metaphor. Did you know that seeing Parliament Funkadelic at Madison Square Garden in February of 1979 was what inspired that song from the Talking Heads?

There were a few occasions I just wanted to play only “Feeling That Way" or “Anytime,” which ran into each on Journey’s Infinity album. But it made Two For Tuesday pretty easy.

Beginning with Sgt. Pepper in 67, Beatles albums all over the world became consistent. While my mom was born in England, I was raised in Wisconsin…so those unique earlier American LP versions still hold great memories for me.

True story: Mark K stopped at a pub south of the river to hear Guitar George playing all the chords and Harry play honky-tonk while others didn’t give a damn about any trumpet playing band.

If you didn’t discover Genesis until they started cranking out hits in the 80s, you may have missed some pretty impressive progressive rock from the prior decade.

Once upon a time (1973) a band released an album. They later had a single go to #1. They added the hit to the end of the album which sounded different from the single. But it all ended happily ever after.

In 1982 the Milwaukee Brewers were in their only World Series. In 1986 this Waukesha, Wisconsin band released their debut album. Some other stuff has happened since.

If one were to teach a class on songwriting, this might be the perfect textbook. I’m still amazed at all the classic songs on this one album.

You may not be familiar with the results of this two day session in 1968, but it spent 37 weeks on the album charts and was a great influence for many musicians that emulated it.

Between hacks, scams, AI fears and data leaks, I could make the case that my computer scares me more today then it did on 12/31 of 1999. But I still like that Prince song.
