Very happy to have been informed my image "Fishing for Breakfast" is to be included in the British Wildlife Photography Awards Collection 13 book. Will have to wait till March to see if I've won or been commended but just getting in the book is incredible. #BWPA 📷📷📷
On Golden Pond (okay Lake😉)
Lucky that the reeds at the back and the position of the rising sun can cast a beautiful golden light onto the lake at the right time

After a lot of deliberating this weeks #sharemondays2026 winner is @sarahlonges.bsky.social with this wonderful fox portait. I love the relaxed fox pose which has been so well captured and the soft colour palette is delightful. Well done Sarah - over to you for next week.

A peaceful pair of Canada Geese glide across the lake. Introduced into the UK in the 17th century, recorded in St James's Park, London, in 1665 as part of King Charles II’s waterfowl collection. Now there is an estimated 150,000, living in Urban, Suburban and countryside habitats

This week’s dip into the archive and it’s C for Crazy Canada Geese!
Okay, so these photos don’t show the honking madness that can be Canada Geese, more their tranquil zen side (honk!)

H is for Heron. S/he is hiding and waiting patiently for lunch to swim by! Does anybody know how to id the difference between a male and female Grey Heron? I was in the YOC a long time ago (!) but it seems to be the difference in plume or aigrets length??

The local Grey Heron sat on the floating island on the local lake. You may not be able to see but there is a fair bit of blood over its beak

I know EVERYONE says this, but it’s very, very difficult to choose between such a variety of lovely images. I still haven’t decided as I type this.

Ok it’s @supergios.bsky.social His photo his very cleverly composed and he just gets it in a photo finish (and a VAR review). 👏

Howling winds and heavy rainfall here, with trains cancelled due to tree falls and power outages. So here's something a little more peaceful!
