mad about causal mapping. Also hit me with: psychology, evaluation, politics, qualitative research, AI.
Yes they should have people whose actual job it is to work out if mass screenings for different diseases makes sense, and then we would definitely listen to them rather than to celebrities.

ha the whole lovely thing looks like it was made by a bunch of 8 year olds and then you get the theme tune which STILL sounds like it is from the future

Or as Confucius said, and I quote, "if your version of a phrase is the one that actually gets remembered, you've won. Big ups to you, Zizek."

Nailed it

That's a good point. You certainly learn less about the underlying principles. But you learn more about how to use coding agents effectively

Doesn't stop a lot of people saying it though
November 29, 2025 at 9:48 AM
Yes why is that? I use LLMs all day, for everything, but those AI summaries on Google search are verifiably absolute pants

Wow. Anyway. Planet on fire. Democracy collapsing. But more importantly, alleged graffiti on a train.

But why the restriction to merely acyclic graphs? What kind of music do you guys listen to???

I put my heavy book on a higher shelf and that also caused the Earth to spin more slowly

Unfathomably the Beeb's own coverage has STILL not asked Nige for his take on it?? What is going on??
November 9, 2025 at 7:14 PM
Yes these AI corporations are terrifying. Overvaluing one another. That doesn't mean the technology isn't real though.
November 7, 2025 at 7:55 AM
Agree with your scepticism about the BBC but it does literally say that in the heading and in the leading sentence and quite clearly in the text?

The IEA is a charity?! hahahahaha

Please everyone, stop already with this polarisation AI=bad. The good people are dismissing AI and leaving it to the bad people. Yes, it adds to growing tech demand for energy. Yes, it's controlled by awful people, etc. AND AT THE SAME TIME it's a real and revolutionary technology.
November 4, 2025 at 3:06 PM
OK I'll take the bait. Yes, I "talk" to AIs maybe 40 hours a week, using them within apps like Cursor to support my coding work. 500% better than having the world's best coder next to me. It makes mistakes, duh, of course it does, as do humans.
It's revolutionary, it's real. Not a delusion.

Alex, do you really think that? I think I'm one of "these people" and I'm wondering what led you to that conclusion on the quality of my connections with other people, amount of self-reflection etc?

You can get them for £1 each in my town. I'll do you a deal and throw in some nice Russian flags too.
