(Not Actually A Bear)
Today I wondered "whatever happened to the Joshes from JOSH AND JOSH ARE RICH AND FAMOUS?" only to find that their blog has vanished and Google has no idea what I'm talking about. An era of Gay Internet has evaporated into mist (and while I'm at it RIP Towleroad)

I'm not sure I want to play all of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake but I KNOW that I want to play the opening personality quiz

...my new job offers its employees free bus passes to get to and from work; between this and my bike I might never need to drive again!

(I love this raccoon gif. I've used it a million times and gosh darn it I shall use it a million more)

I love that everyone in ETOILE is talking about the Fish family at the same time Mamie Fish keeps popping up in THE GILDED AGE

I need an ETOILE / GILDED AGE crossover RIGHT NOW

(why do I bsky like I'm drunk? I'm not drukn I just type that way on bsky)

"MOJO IS A COOL NEW YORK WORD THAT I LEARNED IN NEW YORK"

Iconique

But seriously both whatsisname and Genevieve should be fired eight million times over by now; you show up to a dinner at the Minister of Culture's home and act like THAT and keep your job? only in TV

Etoile ep 3: Crispin delivers one hell of an evil monologue and I love it; I think I might make those evil monologues my entire personality

(credit where it's due Etoile is compulsively binge-watchable and probably catnip for gay men or maybe just me)

(I'm gay men)

I say all of this knowing that Amy Sherman-Palladino is a creative force that has made and done things that I cannot and have never

I just have opinions I don't expect her to care about them

Like I'm just a dude with a knit bear as a profile pic I don't think my criticism will hurt her feelings
April 24, 2025 at 3:32 PM
ep 2: okay Etoile is the Game of Thrones of ballet shows (in that it has eight billion characters all of whom barely intersect and many of them are assholes and also it has BUDGET)

Genevieve is a little more fun as the put-upon underdog

Cheyenne continues to rule and I love Mishi's bagel backpack
April 24, 2025 at 3:30 PM
The good news is that the character Cheyenne Toussaint is a fucking force of nature and every character in the show comes to life when they're in a scene with her
April 24, 2025 at 2:14 PM
The bad news is that every character is a New York Art Asshole with few if no redeeming or enjoyable features beyond their dedication to The Art

A character doesn't need to be a 'good person' but they should be fun to watch or at least gossip about

(as of ep 1 Cheyenne Toussaint comes close)

Etoile Episode 1: this is the most Amy Sherman-Palladino shit ever in ways both great and terrible

The dance is fucking incredible. The dance is incredible and they have a BUDGET

in bad news I am home sick

in good news I made two loaves of babka last night

I now have...less than two loaves of babka

for the record, for my profile photo, I took a photo of a tiny bear that I knit; I am not in fact a bear made of knitting

(you can get the pattern on Ravelry and it even gives you the instructions to make an entire wardrobe of tiny outfits)

Good Bear pattern by Susan B. Anderson
All the while I was making this adorable bear I kept saying to myself, “What a good bear.” It had to become the name of the pattern, Good Bear. I hope you think it is a good bear, too.
