Just found the Dorset Life review, looks amazing. How did I miss it?! Poole has just reopened with a new gallery for temporary/ touring exhibitions, might be worth you taking a look, but well above my grade!

I don’t think I did sadly, looks up my street though! I volunteer at the museum & do quite a bit on the art collection tracking down info on less widely known artists we have in the collection.

Thanks for that, at Poole Museum we have paintings by many artists of Poole & surroundings, but hadn’t come across this one before.

Wonderful to hear from all three of you, an absorbing, sometimes moving evening, & Alan’s words of hope were just what we needed to hear just now 🙏

Do you have any info on how he came to be painting in Poole?

It has been a remarkable series, a tough listen for sure yet the combination of deep scholarship with first hand accounts of personal & societal tragedy are both moving & inspirational, Empire podcast is what social media were made for 🙏

Wholly relevant to point out that the author is a humanist but perhaps the reviewer should have also mentioned he is a devout Roman Catholic which maybe puts the accusation of ‘cynicism’ in perspective.
