Enjoyable Saturday morning stroll along Staines Res causeway with @sferguk.bsky.social and then a guided tour by him of Staines Moor. Great selection of year ticks. Even the rain did not damped our spirits.

Personal challenges to complete before my annual Feb trip to the Highlands next week. This time v different & weird but looking forward to joining @PeteWalkden1973 on a 2 day photography workshop. Followed by meeting a Sussex legend for a days birding @_MattEade.

It’s times like yesterday that you appreciate people and the outdoors. Met a few friends, good chat whilst twitching the Booted Eagle. Despite a challenging drive/weather/broken headlight and being every place the BEagle wasn’t, finally elation of watching a stunning raptor.

Aviemore holds fond memories for me over the past few years but for differing circumstances I return this year on my own. Looking forward to joining @PeteWalkden1973 on a 2 day wildlife photography workshop. The highlands is such a special place. Hoping to improve my skills.
