It’s one of the peculiarities of the HoC that it is perfectly acceptable to tell bared-faced lies, but not acceptable at all to call out those lies.
No wonder it’s a thoroughly discredited institution.

I think we can be certain that UK Government is fully aware of water resources in Scotland, and have long thought about how they can pillage these as part of Scotland’s “contribution to the well-being of the State”.

Nobody who has been paying attention is the least bit surprised by this. For some time now, the BBC has been using the Trump technique of simply telling lies. Any correction comes after the damage has been done, and hidden away in the darkest corners of social media. Simply can’t be trusted.

It’s not a peace agreement, it’s a surrender document.

There have always been Irishmen who put England first, but unfortunately, nowhere near as many as Scotsmen who put England first.

Perhaps the Scottish Government should run CalMac in the same way that the UK Government runs the Royal Navy/Royal Fleet Auxiliary....

Oh, maybe not....

“It has been estimated that just five companies alone extracted £90m in one year in interest payments and dividends from their publicly-funded cataract surgery”

This, of course, is the primary motivation for those pushing for an English style two-tier system.

Surely, the sensible place to build these utterly safe power stations is on the South coast of England close to the centres of electricity demand…

Or is there some other explanation?

He simply hasn’t received his script yet from his manager, Douglas Alexander.

An interesting question is how the population ratio dropped from 11% to 8% over the century.
November 10, 2025 at 9:19 AM
It seems that the population ratios were different in 1914 though. According to an AI search, the population of Scotland was 4.7m, and that of the whole of the UK (excluding Ireland) was about 42m, so about 11%. So the excess sacrifice is "only" about 19% more.

Those of is in Scotland who pay attention, have been aware of BBC reporting bias towards established power for many years. The bias in reporting in Scotland is towards the Unionist establishment, and frankly, this case is extremely mild compared to what BBC Scotland News get away with here.

The clag is beginning to burn off already in Kinross-shire.
November 7, 2025 at 7:48 AM
My thoughts are with BBC Scotland News editorial staff at this difficult time for them. They’ll now have to fill the headlines with new made-up Scotland-bad stories.

My daily commute for 3yrs back in the 1980’s was on the S12. It’s amazing to see how much the network has grown in the meantime.

Given that Lammy seems unable to put systems in place to prevent prisoners from being unintentionally released, it should probably be the last time he answers any questions as a Minister.

It seems pretty clear to anyone with a functioning brain that this is a political game by Labour. They want to have an investigation in Scotland solely to counter the political effect of Police investigations in England.
They really are beyond contempt.
