I suspect you'd need to replace one form of social networking with another. Conferences, Trade Shows, Events, etc. etc.
Honestly, a lot of businesses are stepping back from social media and not noticing much of an impact on sales. I imagine this would very from sector to sector.

I also think there's a great opportunity to reuse old GPUs in consumer products. I found an old low profile GPU that was used on a 1U rack mount and added it to an old dell mini ITX.
It's now a handy little media server in our living room!

NGL, Having read the Voyage of the Beagle. I'm not convinced that the expedition would be that enjoyable. 😂
