Gordon Brown when Prime Minister legislated for "the complete elimination of child poverty."

That was real ambition. Yesterday this Labour Government slashed welfare spending pushing 50,000 more children into poverty.

What happened to Labour?

Fifteen years of austerity have driven our economy to the edge.

And Rachel Reeves' plans will only make things worse.

It's time to tax wealth properly and rebalance the economy so that it works for ordinary people.

Delighted to announce that I'm standing in the local elections on May 1st.

I'm standing once again for the South Ward of Brackley Town Council.

I'm also standing for the Brackley Ward of West Northamptonshire Council for the Green Party.

Making economic growth the overriding purpose, to which all else must be sacrificed, not only trashes ecological and social values. It's also spectacularly bad politics. Governments can't control growth, but when it dips, this government, by its own criteria, fails. A rod for its own back.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has received £311,400 from private healthcare interests since entering Parliament.

Could that be reason he's such a fan of private involvement in our health service?

The Green Party is clear - private profit motive should be nowhere near the NHS.

"You're taking some of the most disadvantaged people in our society and making them pay."

@nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social on the Government's plans for yet more cuts and the need to tax wealth properly instead.

5 years on from our exit from the EU, the devastating impacts of Brexit on young people, small businesses and our economy are clear to see.

The Green Party wants to see the UK rejoin the Customs Union & Single Market and to to re-join the EU when the political will is present.
