From 01109 to Denver

Work in tech, have a small kiddo, am generally curious about everything... and I've always got a song stuck in my head.
To expand on that. I am at the tail end of a layoff notice period… so I’m looking back through all that stuff. The role I was just laid off from was listed as a full stack Java and the job had exactly zero Java

The day to day role was updating and migrating decades old reports in a 4gl language

I generally take what is in a job posting with a grain of salt. As long as it's not entirely buzzwords/coded language for 'you're going to live at the office' then I generally try to get a read of what the team is like from talking to the hiring manager

Honestly, it feels almost too kind to a man that’s made his entire career about solidifying systematic cruelty to anyone not born part of ‘his’ group

I heard the French have some revolutionary ideas around it

Ehhh. Not to be a downer… but I’m not sure that’s practical. You’re talking about a space that is typically multiple layers deep in concrete. With redundant power, internet, and air conditioning. Even small data centers have security.

Unless the goal is to catch a felony… and not a lot of sympathy

The fact that Warren is against something people are framing as protecting consumers says *a lot*

They need to spend some time reading @web3isgoinggreat.com before bankrupting the FDIC

What?! Now, I’m not going to defend vigilante executions… but in what worldview would he not be entitled to a trial?

Wild. The one thing people switch away from Chromium based browsers for is privacy… and they’re like… please accept our attempt to catch up to a few decades of technical learning in exchange for even less privacy

Missed the first school choice window… so I’m having to go round after round about keeping the kiddo where they’re happy and thriving is better than a low enrollment neighborhood school that isn’t in either of our neighborhoods

Still trying to work out what, if anything, changed to warrant this

Most of his takes are clearly in support of something he’s got a financial stake in

Like, if they were in some high school level lesson on identifying bias in social media they’d be the easy ones

My bad. Talking smack and I didn’t even watch the video.

Can't forget the replacement to Obama-care that a surprising number of people still don't realize is the Affordable Care Act.
