Thank you. Funny how a song can send you hurtling back through time cold air, bright lights, and all. Scream if you wanna go faster, right?

The song always reminds me of the cold bite of autumn air, music blasting over the chaos of Nottingham Goose Fair
neon lights flashing, the sweet, sticky scent of candyfloss in the air, and that unmistakable tang of diesel from the rides and generators. Part chaos, part grime somehow, pure magic

This isn’t an Orwellian dystopia.
It’s something more subtle — and more effective.

A system that maintains elite control while convincing you that you’re free.

In this system:

You can vote, but only within narrow, pre-approved lanes.

You can protest, but only if it’s quiet, symbolic, and ineffective.

You can speak freely, until your words actually threaten power.

Britain Is a Managed Democracy

Since 1978, I’ve held one consistent view:

The UK is a soft authoritarian regime, cloaked in the language and rituals of democracy.
Not because of a sudden slide into tyranny — but because it was always built this way.
Now, the mask is just slipping.

Haworth’s population boomed during the Industrial Revolution. Overcrowded, damp housing spread TB. The graveyard uphill tainted the water supply. Poor waste management led to deadly outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, and dysentery.

Its Heartbreaking I read about Haworth in this
The Brontes by Juliet Barker which includes detailed accounts of Haworth's public health conditions and the Bronte family's own experiences.

Charlotte Brontë once described the air in Haworth as “thick, black, and suffocating” due to the industrial smoke and overcrowded graveyard.

As if conjured from dream and shadow, 3.3 million souls have stepped into the veil with you. Expedition 33 is more than a game — it’s a waking reverie

I feel this so much. We just lost our cat Biggels after 20 years it’s like saying goodbye to a piece of home. Losing Coop, and everything else you’ve been hit with… It’s too much. Holding space for you

Brilliantly cutting, Mark. Beneath the humor lies a sobering truth: a presidency marked by grift, grievance, and a dangerous disdain for democracy. Satire like this reminds us just how far from normal things have veered—and how vital it is to call it out.

His art isn’t just beautiful—it’s layered with emotion, atmosphere, and narrative nuance. A true master, indeed. Happy birthday to Barry Windsor-Smith!
