Growing up my grandparents would make the ~1 hour both ways trip from Sarasota to MacDill AFB up in Tampa for all kinds of things from the PX. Every week. This is a huge staple for military families. Taking this away will hit them super hard. Yet more idiocy from those currently in power.

This probably sounds minor to many of you but closing the commissaries will....not be taken lightly by the US all-volunteer standing military. The PX is everything (literally, as it's not just groceries!)

She’s literally got skin in the game when it comes to this via her family. She has condemned atrocities committed on both sides. She’s specifically calling out AIPAC because of the sleazy game they play with using republican donors to force specific democrats to lose.

anyway go see One Battle After Another in a movie theater, I know we said this about Oppenheimer but I mean it for real with this one, there are cinematographic and audio mixing things that are essential to the experience and you won't get it at home

cont. I am glad they were closing schools, it was a super spreader - not just for the kids but teachers, faculty, etc. People who didn't experience it and are hand ringing make me crazy - was it hard? Yes. Did it suck? Also yes. Did we have less people die? Yes!

My kid's school district closed schools. I had my youngest start school (TK) on zoom which wasn't great, and my oldest did 4th grade on zoom. They're both doing fine - small one is in accelerated groups now in 4th grade and the big one started HS in the IB program.
