Certainly *at least one person* around the table should have read the rulebook, but I think it's highly reasonable for most players to have not read it, or to have read only parts of it.

I've certainly never read, like, the Scrabble rulebook, despite having played hundreds of games.

Either way you're enriching the game, tho.

Do they play D&D this season?

I only ever watched the show cuz everyone was like "You'll love how they depict D&D being played!" And I did! But somehow I can't bring myself to believe that they take a break from **waves arms wildly** to roll some dice, so my investment is basically 0.

It was an absolute blast. Thank you for your work!

I have more thoughts about this than I can easily put into words, so to simplify grossly:

-I think wishing someone a good afternoon & meaning it, especially if that person is maybe an angry person, may be the most meaningful thing one can do.

-It is always a delight to find you in my email inbox.

A fuck-crumb should be a standardized measure, like the common shit ton.

I discovered, much to my delight, that if I skip an episode or two and don't tell anybody, *nobody will know*, and my life will be ever so slightly brighter.

A (paying) player recently give me a backstory that he had proudly AI generated and it just... made me sad. Why allow the AI to have all the fun for you?

(Later I incorporated elements of that backstory into the plot, as one does, and it had zero impact for that player, predictably enough.)

(one can only imagine what the Canadians do)

I think the answer is different in British English and American English, so you can chalk that one up to emigration.

Also 3 of the 4 monks are mercy monks, which I found interesting. (2 of the 3 clerics are war clerics, and the wizards are spread evenly between everything-but-abjurers.)

It's clear that kids continue to have no idea what to make of Paladins/Rangers: I don't think any of the 4 have used Smite or Hunter's Mark a single time amongst them.

This is the first time tieflings have outnumbered dragonborn, though we've been steadily climbing that direction over the past year. Pleasantly surprised by the relative class diversity.

It's not even a "problem." It's a clickbait headline quoting someone totally unrelated to the project.
