I believe the unemployment rate is actually higher for men than women. But there's not much in it.
I know for a fact though that given two equal, or near-equal candidates, preference will be for the minority - either from desire to recruit or due to pressures to do so. We have DEI targets to meet.

HR policy is quite literally subjective - if you FEEL you are being bullied then you ARE being bullied. There is no "reasonable-person" metric applied and the policy is weaponised endlessly.
