My more rural cycling route has definitely suffered a bit from the storm. More holes in the road than before.

Meanwhile the Mars-watchers of FB are convinced they've seen "what seems to be a construction".

It is, of course, a rock.

I think my favourite that-comet theory I've read is that it might be a space lorry full of space goods being sent across the galaxy by space Amazon. Order now and get delivery within the next billion years!

Sunny, cold and dry here, ideal for bicycle time. Nice to be out just enjoying a ride rather than urgently chainsawing.

Reminded me that human ears are surprisingly good radiators.

Bit of a lashup job for now, we still have to adjust the fittings to hang it properly, but it'll do to give the beasts their bedrooms back.

Not touching that with my little chainsaw

But hopefully we can clear enough of it on our own to be able to put back some kind of closure to the stables area, and let the beasts come back in.

I think we'll still need professional help to clear parts of it, there's a long branch pointing straight up that I'm not going anywhere near with my little chainsaw, because when that starts to fall it's going to come down with hella force.
November 16, 2025 at 1:12 PM
Holy cow the weight of the wood chunks we're taking off the fallen tree. Anyone under there when it came down would have been super duper turbo dead, duw duw.
