I’ve smoked weed and taken mushrooms in Amsterdam, ecstasy and ketamine in London, cocaine and cigs in Australia but no drug compares to telling the missus she’s a fool for hanging the washing outside, her doing it anyway then it raining 5 minutes later

The Outrun (2024)

3.5/5. What a portrayal of alcoholism man. Saoirse Ronan is such a talent, give her her flowers. Could’ve been more but thought the dual timeline was poorly executed and there were lulls. Beautifully shot and a perfect setting though.

1917 (2019)

4/5. Some amazing bits but the rat part really annoyed me for being sheer bollocks when the rest of it was so believable. Some amazing shots & George McKay outstanding as lead

You know what you’re getting with Lawrence Rees on the Nazis. Haunting but straight talking enough to allow you to draw parallels with today’s world.

Frances Ha (2012)

3.5/5. I’m a whore for a modern film shot in black and white. Some real big feels but just felt like something was missing. Greta Gerwig outstanding and soundtrack slaps

4.5/5. Been a long time. Mad it’s taken me this long to watch it but really, really good. Half star lost for Ray Winstone’s American accent
