Just had a circular conversation with my elderly mother, who thought Christmas was on Friday, and I kept telling her she's wrong, it's Wednesday. Had to Google it to prove I was right, but alas, we were both wrong. 😳

At least I can blame my calendar.

If you are heading to the 🇵🇸 fundraising gig in the INEC this evening, bring some cash. There's a stall selling crafts, including this gorgeous purse, hand embroidered by a women's collective in Palestine, and keyrings fresh off the hooks from Kerry.

Disgusting. Fianna Fail, Sinn Fail and Fail Gael, all voted for foxhunting, despite 70% of people polled saying they were against it.

This is what they think of our wildlife. Beyond cruel.

Great craic at the @kneecapceol.bsky.social gig in Killarney last nite. Great set with high energy, clever visuals and lighting, and lots of 🇵🇸 chants.

But, I was very surprised to see young kids there, like 7 year olds! Ok, it's safe in the seated area for them, but, is it appropriate?

Great campaign but honest confession. I don't really like the Irish flag colours. That shade of green and orange, far too flashy. Made by bolshie French women who never sat in a Irish stone cottage in February eating turnips.
I'd love more earthy tones, mosses and lichens, or naturally dyed fabric.

This is what Dingle thinks of cyclists. Every festival, the only cycle path in town is full of parked cars, right outside the secondary school too. No Garda or parking inspector in sight, ever. It drives me nuts. 🤬

But yeah, blame cyclists visibility for accidents.

Phew! What a weekend. Thanks to @dinglelit.bsky.social, for another fantastic few days of literature, poetry, chats and more.
I took very few photos, but Karim Kattan 🇵🇸 and Gabriel Byrne 🇮🇪 to finish out this Sunday 📕📚👏

Burning of the Hare, Effigy Ceremony for Óiche Samhain in Killorglin, part of An Feile Eile festival.
I have such a grá (love) for small local community festivals, they are the true heartbeat of Ireland 🎃 🖤

She will be sorely missed in the Dáil, always a well spoken, articulate, firm voice of reason, just like Michael D was.

The only choice for a modern, accepting, diverse, multicultural, and yet proudly Irish, Ireland.

Amazing little workshop with Wafa'a Mustafa Zeniah learning the basics of tatreez and seeing her beautiful work up close.
Good to remember the beauty of Palestinian culture, despite all the doom, their craft, food and sense of community. ♥️

I won a fab little 🇵🇸 🧵🪡 box too in the raffle.

Today I was late for work, not because of traffic jams, or school runs, but because of a wee fledgling who was hanging around a dangerous location with little shelter. After contacting our local go-to-rescue lady, it was monitored and eventually moved to a safer location, away from dogs and gulls. 🕊️

The most beautiful flowers in my garden are back. Warms my heart to see them every Spring, each time getting just one or two extra stems, a number crop of 15 stems so far this year.

A rare sight in rural Ireland these days, swarms of insects flying above a small road.
I remember as a kid this being commonplace. Mouth shut, eyes squinting as I walked or cycled through swarms of flying critters.

Whirlwind trip to the capital of the Rebel County yesterday as an unpaid chauffeur/parent. Had some time to kill, so joined in not one, but 2 protests! 🤩 1 for International Women's Day, the 2nd for Palestine.

A girl's gotta do what a girl has to do to stop patriarchy and genocide. ♀️🇵🇸

Heres my latest #IKEAHack! You too can get this designer look *blank* with just $300 of kit from IKEA! I was quoted $1000 for a built in *blank*, but instead I simply bought IKEA *blänk*, used €600 power tools, €200 paint, $900 worth of free labour, all made in my spare garage the size of your house

What better way to celebrate Bridget and Imbolc, a mighty woman and the coming of Spring than a lovely community event in An Díseart, with ceol, comhrá, and of course, Crosóg Bhríde. Seeing the buds on the trees, daffodils about to flower 🌱, winter is over.

Not sure how I ended up on The Farmers Journal beef section email list, but as a long time vegetarian, I don't think it's the right fit for me, esp when I had to google what 'AI calves' are, thinking it was some dystopian cloned calf brought up by a robot mother cow. 😱

It's #Crafterday (it's a thing, trust me). What are you working on today?

I'm making Kumihimo braids, a Japanese technique of braiding that you can do with minimal tools. Haven't made them in years, and they'll go towards something else I'm making (a surprise!)

For fecks sake people, use the frigging alt text. It's getting ridiculous now, how many are not. It's really easy to do.

not sure if there's an official term for the opposite of doomscrolling. But I did it - zoom rolled my way up and down backroads, singing like a kid, to take a long lunch on Ventry beach. It's hard to feel joy with so much shite going on but, gods, it's important.
