Year 8 'work shadowing day':
Well done to year 8 Isla C who spent the day at Media City learning all about 'behind the scenes' in the TV studios. A phenomenal experience, well done Isla for learning lots of new skills.

Well done to year 8 Xavier G who spent the day experiencing school from a Teachers perspective, taking part in a variety of PE lessons. A big thank you to Mr Bibby and Alder Grange High School for a great day and well done to Xavier, who has learnt lots of new skills.

Well done to year 8 Leo H who shadowed the Deputy Head Teacher at Atherton Sacred Heart RC Primary School who stated that it was a "pleasure to have Leo for the day, he was helpful and engaged well with children and adults throughout the school".

At last night's badminton club there were 40 pupils in attendance. It's great to see so many pupils from Y7-11 giving up their time after school to play in a competitive yet fun doubles competition environment in the dome!

Year 10 pupils have been learning how to make whisked sponge by making Christmas yule logs this week. Miss Porter and Mrs Owen have seen some lovely outcomes. Well done Y10!

Out of school achievement:
We are delighted to hear that year 8 Matthew McD is helping his little sister Matilda (through St Mary’s RC Primary School Horwich) raise money for Bolton Mountain Rescue. They are attempting to run the equivalent height of Mount Everest. Well done.

Mrs Flanagan has been working with Head of Performing Arts Miss Collier to design signs that ensure Performing Arts classrooms are well signposted for all pupils. The Drama studio, Music room and Stage are now all visible from the yard.

Joey's ARK would like to give a huge Kindness shout-out to Kyra F and Charlie L-B in Year 10 for the kindness they showed to a Yr11 girl who was anxious about her mock exams. They sat with her, calmed her down and helped her with her revision. Well done and keep being kind.

Our book of the week is The Awesome Book of Animals by Adam Frost. In keeping with Non-Fiction November, this book is jammed full of incredibly interesting - and sometimes unbelievable - animal facts. With vivid colours and fun artwork, this is a book you can easily flip through.
