Louisiana isn't constructed to withstand extended periods of below freezing temperatures. The pipes bursting is extremely stressful. I stocked up on firewood. No rain/ice in forecast, so that's good. We do have a natural gas generator though.

That sounds great! We are ok. My husband has dementia and waiting for surgery to see if his bladder cancer has returned. Our son is doing awesome. He stopped engineering school and is about 2 semesters from Millwright school. He works full-time for Equipment Share. He has his own monster truck.
