The faculty supports it, and it gives you hands-on experience alongside your classroom learning. Furthermore, you'll be a more competitive candidate in your career search following graduation." "I appreciated that the program accommodated working students by having classes on weekends and weeknights. This allowed me to work full-time in a library while I obtained the degree."

SAA had a great time touring the General Mills Archive. It was fun to get a behind-the-scenes look at a corporate archive, and we enjoyed learning more about the history and future of General Mills. We also met the Pillsbury Dough Boy!

Artificial Intelligence Tools For Use in Academic Contexts ...Understanding the Future, Today “I researched fourteen popular Gen AI tools, then populated my website with information about their strengths and weaknesses. On my site, I also included guidelines for craft prompting as well as citation guidelines for referencing the outputs of Gen AI in academic work. My site also includes video tutorials about the uses of each of the AI tools as well as news articles and other reading material about the future of Gen AI and its impact on the world. My hope is that my site will serve as a resource for individuals curious about Gen AI and its evolving relationship to academic contexts.”

For the next five weeks, we’ll be featuring each of our MLIS student groups and their officers. This week, we are highlighting the Student Governance Organization (SGO)! SGO organizes the graduate reception, student socials, trivia nights, and other activities in the program.
Student Governance Organization SGO is the representative body for the MLIS program and serves as a mediator between the students, faculty, and the university.
