Art practice for overwhelming days — draw a grid of 2” x 2” cells. Fill each cell from edge to edge with some kind of easy pattern, like a repetitive series of small marks or a big gradient.

The more of these you do, the more chances you have to surprise yourself with one that you really like.

Something old to start our Bluesky account — a 1970s vintage pencil made for a local railroad. It’s a #3 (approx. h/2h hardness), perfect for lightly sketching lines that will be inked, covered, or erased later.

This was made for ‘the Frisco,’ a regional railroad that did not run to San Francisco.
