We couldn't count on the US anymore.

So it doesn't matter how much of them are still in Europe.

I don't see this. US-forces are overwhelming. Naval-superpowers win wars.

But the US will loose - hopefully - all military bases in Europe. We can't accept enemy-troops on our soil, if US troops have attacked us.
