The words of the Axon family after a bridge in Edgeley was renamed the Driver John Axon Bridge in memory of the heroic locomotive driver who died in 1957.

Improvements already planned include new infrastructure at Wellington Road North/Railway Road and Heaton Lane Roundabout, both featuring state-of-the-art segregated crossings to boost safety and accessibility for everyone.

We've built lots of new sustainable travel routes in the past 5 years, so our Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) got on their bikes for a guided tour.

A highlight was riding the new ‘Bridgescape’ path, from Station Rd through Interchange Park and down the Spiral Ramp onto the TPT.

In Stockport, our partners BOOST Wellbeing CIC and Stockport East & South Primary Care Network teamed up to deliver targeted support for men aged 45 to 60 as part of the GM Moving in Action week.

The frame is now up at the Marple Hub site, and we're getting excited.
The hub will contain a library, a 5-lane swimming pool, a small café, a 60-station fitness suite, and the relocated Marple Clinic.
