Like, say I’m willing to spend 60 hours this week working with peers on something really interesting that is supposedly important for the company but I can’t because we’re wrapped up in recurring… organizational debt and overhead? I don’t even know what to call it

AND it’s not in my best interest

A new project/initiative is starting and people are pumped to work on it? Ah shoot, the PM is fully booked for the next week and a a half

For employers - stuff has to be going on all of the time, constantly plan for more work so that more work can get done, get better at planning more work so that I can aim for that 100% resource utilization, creating horrible loops of recurring work for work’s sake

And don’t get me started on the incentives it creates

For employees - do the least amount of work in the most amount of time, don’t get better or faster since that creates more work you wont get compensated for
