Do you have any corroborating pieces of evidence to support this theory? For either Lucas' thoughts or intentions vs Rian Johnson's? Since this is actually two different theories you've presented.

I think I beefed with this person and their insane *and fascist* reply guys before, over WW2 takes that were ahistorical and wrong. No surprise their media literacy is if anything even worse.

I'm sorry your bellyaching is contradicting itself. Either the anti-genocide voting bloc was powerful enough to sway the election and thus should've been listened to or it wasn't powerful enough therefore your constant scolding is irrelevant. You can't have it both ways.

To confound the matter I remember there being some mockumentary style special features on the prequels DVDs, so it definitely feels like a style that was prevalent at the time. Probably something they (Lucas et al) leaned into and probably as you say was conflated with the actual bts documentary.
