i ended up buying an M4 but i decided to take this Haswell/q87 as far as it could go. i found a 4090k for like 70 bucks and considering how many old macs were underpowered it seemed acceptable lol. 4coar@4ghz's enough to run macOS. ellesmere GPUs are cheap these days too. 32g ram fills it out nicely
