Just another unstable person trying to get us on a stable, clean electrical grid...and pop a few media bubbles along the way.
Beautiful ending with the impossible-yet-inevitable Amy-Yoshi friendship. Almost makes me want to watch baseball again...almost.

Cuba has something similar too. What do you learn in the courses?

Right, I got that. I'm just wondering if this is a classroom? Are they replacing a teacher? What is the context where people are watching this "person"?

I'm curious about the efficiency of using osmosis to turn fresh water into brackish water to generate electricity to desalinate seawater to get...fresh water.

The fact that this got funded and built means I must be misunderstanding something here. Help?

The article doesn't really explain how it works very well. Here's what you're looking for... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmotic...

If I understood this story correctly this is not RO, this is O.

But laws like this are being pushed + passed all over the world. By conservatives in teh US south, yes, but also by liberals in Australia, France, Spain, and Nova Scotia. I think it's a genuine response to seeing what phones are doing to kids. As documented by ppl like @jonathanhaidt.bsky.social

What am I looking at? Is this the front of a classroom?

"Why would the rich stay?" It's unfortunate it doesn't occur to the guy running for Mayor that someone might not abandon the city he says he loves in order to avoid paying an extra 1% in taxes (to make the city more livable for everyone).

Sincere question: Why would that benefit the far right? To keep rural kids isolated and not learning about other identities, etc...? I've assumed this movemetn is coming from parents across the political spectrums that are genuinely worried about their kids mental wellbeing.

Great news, as long as they promise not to drive up the housing costs here instead with their investment properties. Out of patriotism of course.

Ashamed of him, no, bored though, unfortunately yes. He's not a very exciting or convincing speaker this guy.

Exactly. Why did the Biden Admin sit on it for 4 years?
August 7, 2025 at 11:35 PM
Because truly starving ppl would eat the fence? I have no idea.

But as a doc cinematographer I know sometimes they let you onto the other side of fences. Feels like they're taking advantage of some ppl's media illiteracy here.

And my understanding is that 1 GW of coal capacity = 3 or 4x the output of 1 GW of solar or wind, due to capacity factors. I'm not trying to nitpick numbers, we're all looking around the world for hope, but by starting a new coal plant each month, China isnt on a path to a renewable electrical grid,

"A resurgence in construction of new coal-fired power plants in China is undermining the country’s clean-energy progress says a new joint report by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air and Global Energy Monitor. (in 2024) They began building 94.5 gigawatts of new coal-power capacity."

Not certain if people not opening emails is why this continues, or that guilting people into reading your work is the best approach. But I applaud you for helping draw attention to the genocide. Keep on keepin on.

I fear that this post isn't giving a clear picture. Isn't China building out ALL its energy sources (including coal, nuclear, etc...)? And I don't think it is shrinking its fossil imports so much as getting them elsewhere (Iran, Russia, Brazil, etc...)?
